Doodle-stitch!

Doodle-stitch bookmarks come free with the Contours zine, pre-doodled & ready to stitch in whatever random overdyed threads I have put together for you.  The bookmark shown left was stitched by artist & zinester Robin Mayberry (visit her Etsy store!).  The postcards shown below were doodled stitched by me then mailed to friends overseas – a challenge to see how the postal machinations cope with a stitched surface!  As you can see, there is a certain similarity to all of these patterns, but that is simply because that is the way I doodle (it’s one of those personal things that you just can’t change, like handwriting).  But if your own doodles are more angular, if you favour spiderwebs, or loopy flowers, just draw what comes naturally to you, instead.  Pretty much anything can be doodle-stitched, if you just try!
